Happy Monday loves! Summer is by far one of my favorite seasons because of the fashion. I love to wear bright colors all year round. I’m just glad everyone else is doing it too! ūüėČ This look is perfect for graduation parties or bridal parties if you are in the mood for a fun look that is not too formal. Both my top and shorts are by JCREW. The yellow tie-neck top I am wearing is in size 0 regular (usually I am a 2 in petite for reference). The pull-on short with floral embroidery is also in size XXS regular (it runs small). Of course, no look is complete without a espadrille sandal. Finish your look with a ring bucket bag and you are ready to go! My bag bag is small but perfect to stick your phone and wallet in. Have an amazing week loves!

xoxo.

Last week I had the amazing opportunity to travel with my best friend to Cancun (it was our first time going). The trip was filled with incredible Mexican cuisine, history, fun excursions and much more. While we had the chance to do some major beach bumming, we also had the chance to immerse ourselves in Mayan culture that dates back before Christ!

Why we choose Cancun Mexico

If you wanderlust as much as I do, you want to see the world. Mexico is a great country to visit as our trip was super affordable. My best friend is an accountant so when we were picking places to travel to, she paid attention to the exchange rates. In other words, the US dollars can be stretched quite a bit in Mexico (get for anyone looking to get the most for their buck). Plus, she and I are suckers for a great beach trip.

Where we Stayed

We stayed at the Fiesta Americiana Condesa. The resort is all-inclusive and offers a wide variety of restaurants, entertainment and much more. The staff there is so helpful and welcoming! Additionally, there is a healthy blend of families and young adults who were at the resort with us. Needless to say, we did not have to worry about any crazy partiers keeping us up at night.

What we did

Most of our time was spent beach bumming in front of the beautiful Caribbean sea. We also did a few excursions. We had a chance to swim with dolphins at Dolphinaris¬†(which is part of Interactive Aquarium). In addition, we got a chance to go snorkeling at the Meso American Barrier reef (we even saw a sting ray and tons of blue tang!) We also got to immerse ourselves into Mexico’s mayan culture by visiting Chichen Itza. I will be writing a separate blog post next week on what to expect and prepare for the excursion. It’s a once in a life time experience but boy, does it get hot in Mexico!

This pic of my best friend and I is too funny!

I hope you guys enjoyed my little travel diary. I am certainly hoping to do more in the future! Have you ever travelled to Cancun? Let me know by leaving me a comment.

Hi loves! Greetings from the beautiful nation of Mexico. I can’t wait to give you all details on my trip later next week. In the mean time,¬†I wanted to share with you all some of my favorite pineapple print pieces that I am crushing on. I was inspired to find a pineapple print piece for my vacation thanks to the lovely Marynel from Pineapples and Curls.

The spaghetti strap dress that I am wearing is by JCrew. Right now, I do not see an option to get this piece in petite sizing. For reference, I am wearing this dress in a size 2 regular. The best part? It has pockets! If you have a summer wedding or special event coming up, this dress will be sure to get you lots of compliments! I have linked some additional pineapple print pieces from JCrew and other retailers below.

I did it! I made the decision to cut my hair and I could not be more excited. It’s amazing how many people like to voice their opinions on matters that do not concern them. I cannot even being to tell you how many people have made comments on how much better my hair was when it was longer (insert rolling eyes emoji). Nonetheless, the decision to cut my hair is the beginning of a much bigger journey that I am taking (and is one that I hope you will take too).

A few weeks ago, I sat down to listen to Style Collective‘s founder Annie Spano first podcast on Becoming Fearless. And let me tell you, I was inspired and had a reality check. How often do we not try things out of fear? Or stand¬†up for someone when no one else is? Or even step back from a bad situation to focus on being a better, more authentic person? If being in my twenties has taught me anything, it is that it is ok to be selfish from time to time.

So what does all of this have to do with cutting my hair? Well, for years I have been afraid to do so. I have been told many horrible things in the past but one of them is that if I cut my hair, I would be viewed a less attractive (quite a primitive way of thinking if you ask me). But have much evaluation, I realized something: my hair does not define me. What defines me as a person is how I act and treat others. I recognize that there are people who do not like short hair. Well, sorry but not sorry! My hair is staying short because I love it. I am grateful that I am at a point in my life that I am confident to try things that terrify me. And it is my hope that you feel confident and beautiful in all that you do.

That being said, I challenge you all to do something that scares you. Apply for that job that you have had your eye on. Book that vacation. Start a blog ;). Whatever has been scaring you to stay immobile, face it. You will be so amazed at all your will accomplish. And trust me, you will be impressed with yourself.

Hi loves! I don’t know about the rest of you but my skin has been through quite a bit. I have acne scars and rosacea¬†from years of breakouts. Needless to say, my skin is very sensitive and high maintenance. Thankfully, Derma E came out with their new brand of Vitamin C renewing products. Their vitamin C concentrated serum boosts collagen health while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Once you are done applying the serum to your face and neck, use Derma E’s vitamin C moisturizer. These two products together help keep my skin fresh throughout the day and work perfectly under make-up! If you are trying to combat dry skin, these two products are going to be your saving grace! They certainly have been for me.

xoxo

Thank you Derma E for sponsoring this post! All opinions are my own.
