Hi loves! It took forever, but I finally have an official blog post for this dress. There is a story behind this dress that I want to share so I apologize in advance but it is going to be long. And for those who are taking the time to read this, thank you. Thank you for just being amazing.

Dress: Ann Taylor

About a month ago, I hosted an Ann Taylor event at Paramus Mall in New Jersey. I got the chance to do this after a Style Collective meet-up was held there. I was so excited. This was going to be a shopping event that would give me a chance to connect with my fellow blogger friends while doing what we love most: shop! I will be the first to admit that I was a little disappointed that I only had eight girls signed up to go. Nonetheless, I tried not to stress out and stay positive.

Thankfully, my boyfriend was more than willing to join me for this event. I’m so grateful for him because through all my crazy endeavors and adventures, he is my number one fan. So he and I got to the store, waiting for our guests to arrive. While I was waiting, I was persuaded by Chantal to play dress up (and of course I could not say no).

As the night progressed, no one came. And I am not going to lie to you guys, I was heartbroken. I sent out invitations, reach out to people individually and here I was, by myself with my handsome man with no guests to entertain. Needless to say, I definitely felt like that girl in high school that was left out of the volleyball team because everyone else got picked first.

Thankfully, my boyfriend and girls as Ann Taylor kept my spirits high. In the end, fellow blogger Tanya came with a friend of hers. We got a chance to connect and had a blast playing dress up. As silly as I felt in the beginning, I was grateful that Tanya came out. Just having one person come out meant the world to me. And in this moment of embarrassed, I learned a few valuable lessons:

  1. Things are not always going to go as planned. So when they don’t, make sure you have the right company to remind you that the sky is not falling. What is my secret to stay as happy and optimistic as I am? The people I surround myself with. I am at a point in my life that has involved me closing doors on people who are not uplifting. And in doing so, I have been able to stay optimist and happy even in moments of sadness or fear.
  2. You never know where life is going to lead you. While I did not have a great group of girls at my event, I did make new friends. Tanya was so kind and willing to give blogging advice. And I can only hope I returned the favor to her. I became friends with Jessica the store manager and Chantal who helped me expand on my knowledge as a stylist. Her experience in mens and womans fashion has allowed me to have a new understanding as to how a stylist dresses people based upon their body shape, height and weight.
  3. Be adventurous with your sense of style. It sounds funny, but I did not think that this dress was going to fit me well. I fell in love with the pattern and thought it was not going to fit well on my at all. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it fit me well and is not one of my favorite pieces!

So regardless of what disappointments you may face this year, keep your chic held high. Surround yourself with people who inspire and uplift you. And don’t let life discourage you when things do not go as planned (easier said than done I know).

Hello loves! I love having bell sleeves tops. They make me feel so royal and important (like a she-elf from LOTR lol). So you can only imagine the joy that I had when I found this dramatic bell sleeve top. The bell sleeves are so long and romantic!

As far as sizing is concerned, this top runs true to size. I am wearing it in a size S. I will disclose that if you do like showing off your mid-section, this top may be one you will want to avoid. This top also come in several colors – each of which are linked on the bottom of the page.

I am so excited to be partnering with the Glance App to show you all first hand just how long and flows this bell sleeve top really is! I love how this app is allowing me to authentically show you how this top fits and looks when worn on a day-to-day basis.

What are some of your favorite trends this year? Let me know by leaving me a comment below. xx

Hello beautiful world! I have always hesitated with getting a pair of wide leg pants in the past out of fear that they would make me appear to be even shorter than I already am. It turns out that petite women can wear just about anything: it’s all about how you style a piece. So don’t let your height limit you ladies!

When it comes to wide leg pants, I like to wear them high waisted. In doing so, you will add height rather than compromise it. I chose to pair my pants with my favorite off the shoulder top. Also consider using a silk came (tucked of course) and a crop blazer for an even more polished look. Add a pair of heels from some additional height and your look is complete!

As a side note, if you are ever in Philly you have to check out the Philadelphia Magic Gardens! This incredible piece of art immerses you into the artistic mind of Isaiah Zagar. He has spent years adding color to the south side of Philly by adding colorful mosaics to walls and buildings. It is truly a spectacular sight and even more incredible in person! I am not exaggerating when I say that this pictures do not do this place justice.

Do you wear wide leg pants? How do you style them? Let me know how by leaving me a comment below. Love you guys!

Hello loves! After a year of finishing college, I still find it weird that I am not going back to school this semester. It sounds incredibly nerdy, but I love school! What can I say, I am one of those people who has a knack for learning. And of course, I always look forward to adding a few pieces to my closet when the fall semester comes around.

One problem I always face when the weather starts to get cooler is that I am always cold! So jackets and sweaters are my go-to pieces to say the least. I love wearing a leather jacket to add some edge to my look. I chose to pair my leather jacket with a wine colored floral top and white jeans. Even after Memorial Day, I always wear white jeans. Might as well make the most of all your pieces right?

It is tempting to wear sweatpants to class. However, any time I have ever done this, I get restless. Sweatpants make me anxious to get back to my bed rather than pay attention to a lecture. Instead of sweatpants, wear jogger pants instead! You can dress them up with your favorite bodysuit or long sleeve shirt. I love wear heels with jogger pants but if you are not into wearing heels at school, wear your favorite ankle booties instead! You can view the origianl post here.

Additionally, dressing well as school is only part of the equation. You also have to have reliable technology and gear to keep you focused through the semester. Having a bag that can carry your school supplies + your laptop is essential. I have been in the market for a new laptop bag myself. The one that I have now is from Aldo and it has lasted me about 5 years. Below I have listed some of bags that I have had my eye on.

I hope this post was helpful. College is an amazing time for you to shine your brightest. Dress for success and keep your expectations high with your studies. To everyone starting a new semester, best of luck! You are going to be amazing!

The color is truly starting to grow on me more and more this year. At a recent shopping trip, I had two wonderful girls help me find this pink romper. The moment I put it on, I felt that I could take on the world (perhaps because I felt like Elle Woods when she got accepted to law school).timeless-optimist-fashion-blog-alex-and-ani-wonder-woman-cufftimeless-optimist-fashion-blog-alli-laser-cut-peep-toe -shootieThis romper runs true to size (I am wearing it in a size S). I am not exaggerating when I say that I have been using this romper over and over for the past two weeks (with several washes as need of course lol). To complete my look, I selected a blush sandal and my favorite leather jacket. I decided to wear my Wonder Woman cuff with this look and not much more. This is a piece that has a statement all to itself.
