The struggle is so when you are below 5’5. Thankfully over the years, several brands have recognized that women simply do not have the time (and sometimes resources) to get every single piece of clothing they own hemmed. So today I am sharing petite friendly brands that you might not know about to make your life as a petite lady easier!
From feminine dresses to tailored suit separates, Banana Republic’s petite fashion has pieces for pretty much any occasion.
I recently got introduced to Maggy London in the past few years. They have timeless pieces and their petite section really understands a petite frame. I love that their dresses are true to size. Hallelujah!
LC Lauren Conrad
I have been praying that LC Lauren Conrad come out with a petite section and now they have one! It’s online only but now this means that we can enjoy her dresses without feel like a toddler in mom’s dress!
Another great store to shop at if you are petite! I generally like to shop there for seperate pieces like sweaters, tops and skirts.
Gal Meets Glam
Everyone’s favorite feminine fashion blogger has the more darling clothing line. Her line also has petite styled dresses and jumpsuits (and lots of floral prints).
Very similar to Banana Republic, Ann Taylor is also a great place for petites to find feminine dresses along with corporate casual styled clothing. Similar to Rent the Runway, they now have a renting service so you can try their pieces on before you chose to purchase them.
I fall in love with this brand more and more each year. Their dresses are made so well. I love their petite maxi dresses – no hemming required!
Kut from the Kloth
My favorite petite denim jacket is by Kut from the Kloth and it’s a lifesaver. It fits like a glove. Plus they also have petite styled jeans too!
I remember going to Express stores during my first few years of college and leaving disappointed because certain dresses wouldn’t fit right. Now, Express has a petite line that includes their signature dresses, bottoms and tops.
A brand that I wear time and time again because of their timeless pieces. From dresses, to tailored pants and blazers, it’s hard not to find a lot of their pieces in my wardrobe.
ASOS’ online shop offers sizes in regular, petite and plus styled clothing. I personally have not ordered from ASOS yet (because I am a creature of habit and order from the same places) but I have a lot of fellow bloggers who love the pieces they get and of course, love their price points.

SHOP MY LOOK
Dress: Banana Republic (runs small, size up)* // Sandals: LC Lauren Conrad // Tulle Skirt: OLD; similar here of under $50! // Hair piece: Amazon (under $10)
*for this photoshoot I wore this dress in 4P (my usual size). It just barely fit me. I ended up going back to BR to exchange the dress for 6P.
